From the brilliant and creative mind of Olympia Le-Tan comes chic clutches and bags disguised as classic novels, such as works by Tennessee Williams and Arthur Miller. There’s even bags in the shape of milk cartons if you’ve never been a great fan of literature and reading. The embroidered clutches and bags are designed by French designer Olympia Le-Tan and are handmade with love care, and maybe even a tiny pinch of pixie dust. I’m dying to get my hands on one for myself, but they carry a lofty price, some hundreds of Euros for a single clutch. While I could never be creative enough to justify such a purchase, it would be lovely to call one of these clutches disguised as a book all my own. With my morals though, I would most likely force myself to know the plot, characters and setting of the book from which my clutch was inspired both thoroughly and inside-out in case I was ever asked on the subject of the bag. I can’t think of anything more embarrassing than someone catching me out on not knowing about a book- especially when I have a product in its image.
From this side detail you can see the gorgeous fabric lining on the interior of the hard case and how well the inside matches the exterior. It would look really gorgeous with a vintage floral dress and a large straw sunhat on a hot Summer's day.
If tracked down a few rare copies of some of the Mini Minaudieres as well as their larger sized counterparts but to be able to afford them and still have money saved up I would need it to be Christmas and working the kind of frenzied retail hours for a month before I could comfortably afford one of these clutches. But still, I am determined to find a way to make ends meet and finally own a copy. I have seen their design before and directed myself to the site many many months ago but the name didn't properly register. I won't let that happen again a second time.
The stitched title against the simple fabric cover as well as the purple felt goes well with the floral inside, even if I don't have much of a need for a clutch it would be a fabulous addition to a bookshelf to hide some treasure inside I'm sure.
I've been meaning to read the Great Gatsby ever since I finished my final examinations- there was a fantastic and hauntingly beautiful exerpt in one of my text books about idenitfying features of literature and in a small way it got my hooked. Too bad all the Great Gatsby clutches from the Olympia Le-Tan online store have sold out.
