Julianne Moore in Custom Lanvin by Alber Elbaz. Well, I have a feeling that this custom gown (yep, another one!) will be "controversial". People will either D.IE. for it or they will hate it. I am sure the WWD fashionistas will just love it; it's dramatic, directional and definitely not a traditional gown. But those other non-WWD-reading fashion folk, well, I have a feeling it might not be their cup of tea. I like it's bright color and the asymmetrical detailing of the "pouf" shoulder and sleeve as well as the jeweled neck strap.
When I saw Julianne on TV in this gown, she took my breath away, but in this photo, with those unfortunate wrinkles (silk charmeuse kids-- Be careful how you sit in the limo!) I can see how she might get torn apart come tomorrow. I, for one--will stand in the "I Love It, Julianne Moore!" camp.
